Once logged into Scribe, you will be presented with the home screen. We do recommend using Google Chrome as Scribe is optimised for this.
- At the top of the home screen you will see an option to set up a Scribe shortcut. If you will be accessing Scribe regularly from the same laptop or computer, you may wish to add the shortcut to your desktop and this will take you straight to the Scribe login screen.
- You’ll also see a button for the help centre where you can access all of the useful help guides (like this one!).
- The life ring icon in the bottom right hand corner will be visible even when you are not on the home screen. By clicking on this, a chat box will appear where you can type in any questions or uncertainties. Once sent, this will come through directly to our inbox where we can respond perhaps with some specific advice, links to help guides or arrange a call if it’s something a bit more complex.
- The six Quick Action buttons are the things we find most frequently used within Scribe Accounts. These options are all available from the menu on the left, it’s really just a quick way for you to access these functions. For example, you’ve just logged in and want to add a payment, you can do so straight away from your home screen by selecting the relevant button.
*What you’ll find initially when you first login is the icons will be different and relate to your setup (i.e. Add Cost Centres and Cost Codes) but once this is done it will then default to the regular quick actions*
To move between financial years or councils, you’ll need to select the circle icon in the top left hand corner (above your council name). The first drop-down allows you to view your different council accounts (if you use the same login for them) and the second allows you to move between financial years. Simply select the council or financial year you wish to be in and select ‘View’.
If you are using another Scribe product such as Cemetery or Bookings, you can access them in the same way and select on their icon.
